WVU LSAMP Scholar Leonardo Peele Wins Award
KY WV LSAMP is excited to share news from the recent Louis Stokes Midwest Regional Center of Excellence (LSMRCE) Conference held in Chicago held on November 2, 2023.
KY WV LSAMP Scholar, Leonardo Peele, from West Virginia University (WVU) had the honor of presenting his research, titled "Cooperative Formation Control For A Team of UAVs," at the conference. Out of 80+ poster presenters from colleges across several states, we are delighted to share that his presentation earned 2nd place overall. Leonardo reports that the experience was truly enriching, and he is grateful for the opportunity to showcase his work and engage with fellow researchers.
Leonardo's journey into research at WVU began through the Research Apprenticeship Program (RAP), and he is currently in his second semester in the Program. Last summer, he had the privilege of participating in the SURE Program at WVU, where he was funded by the Kentucky West Virginia Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP).
From Leonardo:
I would like to express my gratitude to SURE & KY WV LSAMP for your assistance in making this incredible experience possible. Your support has been instrumental in my academic and research journey, and I am thankful to be part of a community that fosters growth and opportunities.
